Ulm University

Ulm University, whose official name is Universität Ulm, serves as a respected public research university in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The university campus exists on a hilltop which designers built at Oberer Eselsberg, reaching the highest point of all university campuses across Germany. The institution demonstrates its dedication to STEM disciplines and medical studies through development of an active research environment which supports the two fields through joint research efforts and new ideas. The research and teaching and patient care activities of the institution express its dedication to achieving academic excellence and delivering practical benefits to society. 

The local community dedicated two decades of advocacy for educational development when they established the university in 1967 through the efforts of a citizens' initiative called the "Task Force Ulm University." The institution started as Medizinisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Hochschule Ulm and attained full university status within months after its inaugural ceremony that Chancellor Kurt Georg Kiesinger attended. The university transformed from a medical and natural science institution into a complete research center which spanned multiple fields through its various expansions during the upcoming decades. The campus area developed into "Science City Ulm" which functioned as an innovative ecosystem that combined academic research facilities and industrial research centers operated by international companies.
