Ca' Foscari University of Venice

Ca' Foscari University of Venice is a major public university located in Italy's famous city of Venice, which is well known for its special cultural and architectural designs. The main building is an amazing gothic palace right on the Grand Canal, which shows off the city's rich history. Ca' Foscari was established on August 6, 1868, as the Royal Superior School of Commerce, and represents an important historical event in Venice's history, being the first school in Italy and one of the first in the world to provide a system of higher education in business and economics. Venice has a long history as a global center for trade and commerce, therefore providing a perfect location for the school. In the next century, Ca' Foscari continued to expand the types of classes offered, and finally became a university in 1968. The school became a university with multiple disciplines while maintaining the university's original commitment to providing students with an opportunity to study at other schools in different countries, and to also provide students with the ability to learn languages.
