Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) is a private university located in Amman, Jordan.
Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) was founded in 1991 as a non-profit private university in Jordan. It is owned by the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), which is the leading applied research center in Jordan. PSUT specializes in Information Technology (IT), Communications, and Electronics.
The idea for PSUT was born in the late 1980s, when the Jordanian government was looking to promote the development of the IT sector. The RSS, which was already at the forefront of IT research and development in Jordan, was seen as the ideal partner to establish a new university that would focus on training the next generation of IT professionals.
PSUT was officially inaugurated by His Majesty King Hussein I of Jordan on October 13, 1991. The university initially offered three undergraduate programs: Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, and Communications Engineering. In 1997, PSUT launched its graduate program in Software Engineering.
PSUT has played a major role in the development of the IT sector in Jordan. The university's graduates are in high demand by employers in Jordan and the region. PSUT is also a leading center for IT research and development in Jordan.
