Al-Kafaàt University

Al-Kafaàt University is a private independent and non-profit institution of higher learning located in Lebanon. Al-Kafaàt University is on a spacious and unconstrained campus in the pine forest of Ain Saadeh in Lebanon, only a few kilometers away from Beirut. Al-Kafaàt University prides itself on its commitment to providing an inclusive environment where people from all parts of society can study together and as a unit. Al-Kafaàt University is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The institution adopts a vibrant curriculum that emphasizes experiential learning through real-world experiences to assist students from all background demographics.

The tradition of the university has been strongly influenced by the philanthropy of Nadeem Shwayri and his wife Lily, who established the not-for-profit Al-Kafaàt Foundation in 1957 for providing education and rehabilitation services to socially disadvantaged children and people with disabilities. Following many years of successful experience in providing mainstream education and vocational training programs, the foundation made a decision to extend into tertiary education by founding the Al-Kafaàt Institution of Higher Education in the middle of the 1990s. The institution received its official accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education in 1999 in its basic schools of technology and education. In 2005, after expanding the institutional educational profile with additional schools of business and fine arts, the institution has become officially recognized as a university.
