Mzuzu University is a public university located in Mzuzu in Malawi.
The story of Mzuzu University is much older, dating back into the 1970s, and is not narrated in terms of books, syllabi, and lectures; it is, rather, in chalks made by a teacher training college. Nestled in the green hills of western Mzuzu, this little-known one-sca Mzuzu was The teacher training college upon whose seed my vashives were within that beautiful flower was formed by some other valis. In 1997, in recognition of a major human need to solve the capacity problem of higher education, Malawi took a major step. The teacher training college was then further elevated to be Mzuzu University, the second national university in the country, and its first students were enrolled in 1999 in one of its major boardings. Mzuzu University, however, did not just grow, it aspired to effect change. Community engagement became its core principle fusing partnerships that would address social, economic, and environmental challenges. The challenges had been far beyond those within its walls, encompassing anything from health discrimination to community empowerment. Currently, then Mzuzu University evokes a lot of hope and knowledge for northern Malawi. Its evolution from a simple training college to yet another growing university is the realization of Malawi's quest for knowledge and enduring commitment that Mzuzu has chosen to redeem within its abbey.
