Eindhoven University of Technology

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a public technical university in the Netherlands, situated at Eindhoven.

The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) was founded as the Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven (THE) on 23 June 1956 by the Dutch government. It was the second institute of its kind in the Netherlands, preceded only by Delft University of Technology.

TU/e started out with just a few hundred students and a handful of departments. However, it grew rapidly in the following decades, and by the 1980s it had become one of the largest and most prestigious technical universities in the Netherlands.

TU/e has also played a leading role in the development of the Eindhoven Brainport region. The Brainport region is a cluster of high-tech companies and research institutions that is located in and around the city of Eindhoven. TU/e has close ties with many of the companies in the Brainport region, and its students and graduates play an important role in the region's innovative economy.

Today, TU/e is a leading technical university with a global reputation for excellence in research and education. It is a member of the European University Association and the Coimbra Group.
