NTU was founded in 1955, and their first Bachelors Degree was offered in 1956. In 1980, Nanyang University merged with University of Singapore, forming National University of Singapore, which was known as NUS. NTU was established in 1981, including three Engineering Schools. The school was called the School of Accountancy & Business from 1990 until 1991, when it became NTU.
