Rajarata University of Sri Lanka

Rajarata University is a public university located in the historical town of Mihintale near Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

Born in 1996 as the 11th national university in Sri Lanka, Rajarata University burst onto the scene on January 31st, a beacon of hope for the previously underserved youth of the North Central Province. Spearheaded by President Chandrika Bandaranayake Kumaratunga, it vowed to bridge the educational gap, empowering young minds with knowledge and opportunity. Its journey initially unfolded at the Central Province Affiliated University College (CPAUC) in Polgolla, before finding its permanent home in the picturesque historical city of Mihintale in 1997.
