Chang Gung University

Chang Gung University (CGU) is a private university in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Chang Gung University (CGU) was founded in 1987 as the Chang Gung Medical College by the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. The university was originally established to train medical professionals, but it has since expanded to offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of fields, including engineering, business, and management.

In 1992, the name of the university was changed to Chang Gung College of Medicine and Technology to reflect its expanded range of programs. In 1997, the name was changed again to Chang Gung University to reflect its status as a full-fledged university.

In 1987, the university had only a few hundred students. CGU has grown rapidly since its founding.

CGU is also a well-respected university internationally. It has partnerships with universities all over the world, and attracts students from over 50 countries.
