Kampala International University

Kampala International University (KIU) is a private, not-for-profit university in Uganda.

Kampala International University (KIU) was established in 2001 by a group of Ugandan educationists and entrepreneurs. The university was founded with the vision of providing high-quality education to students from all walks of life. KIU began with just a few programs and a small number of students, but it quickly grew to become one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Uganda.

KIU received its university charter in March 2009. This charter gave KIU the authority to award its own degrees and diplomas. KIU is now a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Association of Africa Universities, and the Inter University-Council of East Africa.
