National Aviation University

The National Aviation University (NAU) is the largest aviation university in Ukraine. It is located in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

The history of the National Aviation University (NAU) dates back to 1933, when it was founded as the Kyiv Aviation Institute (KAI). KAI was established on the basis of the mechanical department of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and it was one of the first aviation institutes in the Soviet Union.

In the early years of its existence, KAI focused on training aircraft engineers and pilots for the Soviet Air Force. However, the institute's scope soon expanded to include other areas of aviation, such as air traffic control, aviation management, and aviation safety.

During World War II, KAI was evacuated to Kazan, Russia. After the war, the institute returned to Kyiv and resumed its operations. In the postwar years, KAI played a major role in the development of Soviet aviation, and its graduates were involved in the design and construction of many of the Soviet Union's most famous aircraft, including the Antonov An-225 Mriya, the world's largest cargo aircraft.

In 1994, KAI was renamed the Kyiv International University of Civil Aviation. In 2000, the university was awarded national university status by the President of Ukraine, and it was officially renamed the National Aviation University.

NAU is also a member of the International Association of Universities, and it has partnerships with many other universities around the world. This allows students to participate in exchange programs and to earn international degrees.

The National Aviation University is a highly respected institution, and its graduates are in high demand by aviation companies around the world.
