Ton Duc Thang University

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is a public university in Vietnam, located in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ton Duc Thang University was founded in 1997 as Ton Duc Thang Private University of Technology. It was the first private university in Vietnam to be established after the government's decision to allow private universities in 1993. The university was founded by a group of Vietnamese entrepreneurs and educators who were committed to providing high-quality education to Vietnamese students.

The university was initially located in a rented building in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2000, the university moved to its current main campus in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The new campus was built on 100 hectares of land and included state-of-the-art facilities, such as modern classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.

In 2003, the university was converted to Ton Duc Thang Semi-Public University under the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. In 2008, the university was upgraded to Ton Duc Thang University under the management of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
