Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla (UMO) is a public university located in Ouargla, Algeria.
The history of Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla (UMO) dates back to 1988, when it was founded as the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) by Decree No. 65-88 of 22 March 1988. The ENS was established to train teachers for the secondary schools in the Ouargla region.
In 1997, the ENS was upgraded to a university center by Decree No. 159-97 of March 10, 1997.
UMO is committed to international collaboration and has partnerships with universities and research institutions around the world. The university offers a number of exchange programs for students and faculty, and also hosts international conferences and workshops on a regular basis.
