Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology

BUET is a public technological research university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest institution for the study of engineering, architecture, and urban planning in Bangladesh.
The history of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) dates back to 1876, when it was founded as the Dhaka Survey School. In 1947, the school was upgraded to an engineering college and renamed the Ahsanullah Engineering College. In 1962, the college was granted university status and became the East Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology (EPUET). After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, the university was renamed the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
BUET has played a significant role in the development of engineering education and research in Bangladesh.
