Darul Ihsan University

Darul Ihsan University (DIU) is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The seeds of Darul Ihsan University (DIU) were sown in 1975 when the idea of a post-modernist, faith-based university gained traction among educationalists in Bangladesh. This vision materialized under the leadership of Professor Dr. Syed Ali Ashraf, who established the Darul Ihsan Trust in 1986. In 1989, DIU's doors officially opened in Savar, welcoming students to a unique blend of "Revealed Knowledge" and "Acquired Knowledge."

Initially operating from one campus, DIU blossomed, earning government accreditation in 1993. However, DIU's journey wasn't without controversy. Allegations of links to the Jamaat-e-Islami party cast a shadow on the university, which DIU officials firmly denied. Despite the challenges, DIU garnered recognition from international bodies like WHO and UNESCO. Its commitment to quality education earned it a respectable 22nd position among private universities in Bangladesh by 2016.
