East West University

East West University (EWU) is a private university located in Aftabnagar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

In 192, the idea for EWU emerged within a group of prominent academics, business leaders, and professionals, led by Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin. They envisioned a private university offering quality education at an affordable cost. In 9 August, 1992, the Private University Act (Act 34) was passed by the government, opening the way for the establishment of private universities in Bangladesh.

In 1996, EWU was officially established as a non-profit organization. Classes commenced with 6 faculty members and 20 students at a temporary campus located at Mohakhali C/A in Dhaka. In 2003, EWU shifted to its permanent campus in Aftabnagar, Dhaka, a spacious and modern facility accommodating the university's expanding needs.

EWU remains dedicated to its core values of quality education, affordability, and accessibility. The university offers various scholarships and financial aid options to ensure inclusivity for talented students from diverse backgrounds. EWU actively contributes to the local community through research initiatives, outreach programs, and collaborations with industry partners.
