Islamic University

Islamic University (IU), is a public PhD granting research university in Kushtia, Bangladesh and the largest seat of higher education in the south-west part of the country.

Kushtia Islamic University's story began in 1977, when an "Islamic University Planning Committee" envisioned a center for Islamic learning and scholarship in Bangladesh. President Ziaur Rahman officially laid the foundation stone in 1979, setting the stage for the university's future in Kushtia. However, it wasn't until 1986 that academic life truly blossomed.

The university's journey has not been without challenges. Political turmoil and resource limitations impacted its early development. However, its dedication to academic excellence and Islamic values has helped it overcome these hurdles.
