École Normale Supérieure

École Normale Supérieure is not directly translated into English, but it is a competitive University of Arts and Sciences in Paris, France. It has 2700 students who earn credits in such areas as Letters of Science and Humanities. It is an elite school, and students usually enter prep schools before they will be admitted to ENS.  

ENS was originally developed during the period of the French Revolution. The school was designed to provide France with new teachers. Among its alumni are churchmen, statesmen, scientists, writers and philosophers. 12 former students went on to become Nobel Prize laureates.
