Symbiosis International University

The private multi-campus deemed university known as Symbiosis International University operates its main campus in Pune India while the university system maintains multiple campuses throughout India to promote its international educational programs and multicultural initiatives. The university established its first international campus in Dubai while it operates its primary campus across multiple Indian cities which include Nashik and Bengaluru and Noida and Hyderabad and Nagpur. The Lavale Pune campus which occupies 300 acres of land features a hilltop view that creates a "Knowledge Village" which enables students to develop their skills in a dynamic learning environment. The institution operates as a major educational institution which serves Indian higher education through its Category-I UGC recognition and its National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) 'A++' accreditation status which emphasizes international educational programs.

The foundation of Symbiosis was established in 1971 through the efforts of Prof Dr S B Mujumdar who established the organization to assist international students facing challenges in Pune according to his experience as a botanist. The "Symbiosis International Cultural Centre" which was originally created to establish a "home away from home" for foreign students from Afro-Asian countries, served as the main venue for cultural exchange and mutual support activities. Dr Mujumdar established special institutes through the Symbiosis Society after he discovered that organized education served as the best method to achieve international peace. The institution achieved its most important achievement when it received "Deemed to be University" status from the Indian government in 2002.
