Northern University of Malaysia (UUM) is a public management university in Sintok, Kedah, Malaysia.
The history of Northern University of Malaysia (UUM) can be traced back to 1983, when the Malaysian government decided to establish a new university in the northern region of the country. The university was officially established on 16 February 1984 under the Universiti Utara Malaysia Order. UUM began operations in a temporary campus in Jitra, Kedah, but it moved to its permanent campus in Sintok in 1990. The Sintok campus is located on a 1,061-hectare piece of land and is home to a variety of state-of-the-art facilities.
UUM is a highly selective university, and its students come from all over Malaysia and the world.
