UCSI University

UCSI University is a private university in Malaysia, with campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, and Springhill (Seremban/Port Dickson).

UCSI University was founded in 1986 as the Canadian Institute of Computer Studies (CICS), a computer training institute in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. It was founded by Dato' Peter T. S. Ng, who is still the Executive Chairman of the UCSI Group today.

In 1990, CICS was renamed Sedaya College, and in 1996, it was renamed Sedaya International College. The college offered a wide range of computer science and business programs, and it quickly became one of the leading private colleges in Malaysia.

In 2003, Sedaya International College was granted university status by the Malaysian government, and it was renamed UCSI University. The university continued to expand its range of programs, and it soon became one of the most popular private universities in Malaysia.

Today, UCSI University has three campuses in Malaysia, located in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, and Springhill (Seremban/Port Dickson).

UCSI University is also known for its diverse and multicultural student body. Students from over 110 countries come to UCSI University to pursue their education. This creates a vibrant and enriching learning environment for all students.

Based on the QS World University Rankings of 2025, UCSI University is positioned as the #265 top university in the world, which makes it the #7 top university in Malaysia. The university's global rank is improved by 35 points from last year.
