Manila Central University

Manila Central University is a private, non-sectarian, stock basic and higher education institution located on EDSA, Caloocan, Philippines.

The history of this esteemed institution dates back to 1904, when it was founded by Dr. Alejandro M. Albert, a prominent Filipino physician. From the outset, it was dedicated to addressing the educational needs of Filipinos, establishing itself as a crucial player in the development of higher education in the country. In its early years, it became known for its pioneering efforts, notably opening the first pharmacy school managed by Filipinos. By 1920, it further cemented its legacy by launching the first nursing school in the Philippines, offering a comprehensive four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The interwar period and World War II presented significant challenges, yet the institution continued to expand its academic offerings by introducing courses in education, commerce, and law.
