Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology

Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), also known as Iligan Tech, is a public coeducational institution of higher learning and research university located in Iligan City, Philippines. It is the first autonomous unit of the Mindanao State University System.

The history of MSU-IIT can be traced back to 1946, when the Iligan City National High School (ICHS) was established. In 1956, the ICHS was converted into the Lanao Technical School (LTS) under the Bureau of Vocational Education (BEV).

In 1965, Republic Act 4626 converted the LTS into a vocational college and renamed it as the Northern Mindanao Institute of Technology (NMIT). NMIT offered a number of technical and vocational programs, such as automotive technology, electrical technology, and mechanical technology.

In 1968, Republic Act 5363 chartered NMIT as the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). MSU-IIT became the first autonomous unit of the Mindanao State University System.

In 1975, MSU-IIT implemented its first comprehensive reorganizational plan, which made the university more autonomous and gave it more control over its budget and curriculum.

Over the years, MSU-IIT has expanded its programs and offerings. MSU-IIT is committed to providing quality education and research to its students. It has a strong faculty and staff who are dedicated to helping students succeed. The university also has a vibrant student life, with a number of clubs and organizations that cater to the interests of its students.
