University of Zurich – in German, Universität Zürich. Its acronym is UZH and it is located in Zurich, Switzerland. The school is home to more than 25,000 students, making it the largest school by enrollment in Switzerland. It offers programs in veterinary medicine, theology, science, medicine, economics and arts.
Founded in 1833, the University of Zurich was the first college of its time to be founded by a state and not a church or monarch. The university was also among the first to allow women to attend lectures and later to become doctoral students. The University of Zurich has buildings located all through the city.
