The University of Michigan is in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. They are also called “U of M”. They have over 43,000 students, and offer course work in the arts, science, literature, nursing, theater and dance. They also include the colleges of design, architecture, education, dentistry and pharmacy.
U of M was started in 1817 as “University of Michigania”. Among the founders was Reverend John Monteith, and he was also the college’s first president. They have several campuses in Michigan. The first classes to be held in Ann Arbor were in 1841, and by 1950, there were 21,000 students enrolled.
