The University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, USA, is also known simply as UW. More than 42,000 students call this college home. They strive to excel in fields that include Arts & Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

Founded in 1861, UW at Seattle was originally the Territorial University of Washington. The school went through hard times initially and was closed three separate times. But the school took hold upon the last re-opening and the location became less isolated. Additional campuses would be opened in 1990. 

Based on the QS World University Ranking of 2023, University of Washington is positioned as the #80 top university in the world. The rank is improved by 5 points from last year.
