National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is a public research university located in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) was established in 1991 under the vision of the Zimbabwean government to create a center of excellence in science and technology education. The university's roots can be traced back to 1989 when the Bulawayo Polytechnic was upgraded to the Bulawayo Technical College. In 1990, the Bulawayo Technical College was further upgraded to the Bulawayo Higher Technical Institute, offering advanced diplomas in engineering and technology.
In 1991, the Bulawayo Higher Technical Institute was transformed into the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), marking a significant milestone in Zimbabwe's higher education landscape. The university initially comprised three faculties: the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Commerce and Administration.
