Founded in 1852, Antioch University is a nonprofit, private institution from Yellow Springs, Ohio that originally began in Yellow Springs, Ohio, but now consists of several campuses at different locations across the country. Antioch University uses social justice, experiential education, and individualized learning as pillars of education. Some of the campuses of Antioch University include Antioch University New England; Antioch University Santa Barbara; and Antioch University Los Angeles, offering both undergraduate and graduate programs in such programs as Environmental Studies; Education; Psychology; and Creative Writing. It is part of the unique experience of Antioch University, where small class sizes; faculty mentoring; and a community-driven focus allows students to focus on their interests, while serving the needs of the community. I believe the whole experience embodies the mission of Antioch University: to educate, prepare, empower, and inspire students to emerge as socially responsible changemakers and leaders.
