Curry College

Curry College is a private, coeducational college located in Milton, Massachusetts, approximately seven miles south of Boston. The college was founded in 1879 in Boston by Anna Baright, a pioneer in the field of speech education, as the School of Elocution and Expression. The institution was later renamed the Curry School of Expression in honor of one of its later directors, Samuel Silas Curry, a renowned speech and drama teacher. Initially focusing on dramatic arts and public speaking, the college gradually broadened its curriculum to include liberal arts and professional studies. It moved to its present 131-acre residential campus in Milton in 1952 and officially became Curry College. This relocation and curriculum expansion cemented its identity as a comprehensive college dedicated to both liberal arts principles and career-focused education.
