Presbyterian College

Presbyterian College is a private liberal arts institution situated on a scenic 240-acre campus in Clinton, South Carolina. Affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), the college is renowned for its motto, "Dum Vivimus Servimus" (While we live, we serve), which anchors its mission to prepare graduates for impactful careers and community service. The campus is a "green oasis" characterized by stately red-brick buildings of Georgian and Neoclassical design, centered around a signature central mall. PC provides a highly personalized educational environment.

The college was founded in 1880 by the Reverend William Plumer Jacobs, who originally established it to provide higher education for children from the Thornwell Orphanage. Initially named Clinton College, the school was coeducational from its inception, a progressive stance for the late 19th century. In 1904, the institution officially became the Presbyterian College of South Carolina after the state synod assumed ownership. Over the decades, PC evolved from a small local college into a nationally ranked liberal arts institution, eventually expanding its academic scope to include professional graduate schools, such as its School of Pharmacy, which opened in 2010.
