Princeton University is an Ivy League school located in Princeton, New Jersey. Princeton was founded in 1746 by the New Light Presbyterians. Originally called the College of New Jersey, it was established for the purpose of training ministers. Although it was connected with the Presbyterian Church, it has always been non-denominational.
Princeton offers undergraduate programs in the natural and social sciences, the humanities and engineering. Professional degrees are offered through the School of Architecture, the Princeton University School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
