University of Nebraska is a large public higher-education system with campuses distributed across the state of Nebraska. It was established in 1869. UN offers many undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in an array of disciplines including liberal arts, business, engineering, education, health sciences, agriculture, and sciences. UN serves hundreds of thousands of traditional and nontraditional students each year and embarks to offer academic excellence, innovation, and engagement with their communities. Students experience research, internships, service experiences, and experiential learning opportunities connecting, preparing them for employment and leadership after they graduate. The campuses across Nebraska including the main campus in Lincoln, and campuses in Omaha and Kearney, offer world-class faculty, facilities, amenities, and engaging campus and residential communities. UN has provided many contributions to scholarship, diversity, public service, and education through the visitor context and the highest and best use. Since its inception, UN has served the state as a contributor to education, scholarship, and development, where numerous faculty belong to the National Academy of Sciences, and where faculty are regularly recognized for their scholarly accomplishments and publishing contributions. UN and the campuses, continue to engage in impactful roles in education and outreach and collaborate with partners that add to the landscape of Nebraska and surrounding states recognition and attention.
