Urbana University was a private university, located in Urbana, Ohio, USA. It was started in 1850 and had undergraduate and graduate programs in many fields, from business, education, arts and sciences, and health care. Urbana wanted to provide an educational experience unique to each student, with smaller classroom sizes and student success as the goal. Beginning March 1, 2021, Urbana University was absorbed as a branch campus of Franklin University, a private nonprofit institution based in Columbus, Ohio. As a result of this merger, Urbana University students had access to a wider variety of academic programs and be connected to greater resources, while still having the opportunity in a quality institution to pursue their educational aspirations and receive support.
